Title: Capacity Building Coordinator

 Objective of Position:
The Capacity Building Coordinator (CBC) is a member of the Human Rights and Good Governance (HR GG) Secretariat and reports to the Grants Programs Manager. He/She will be responsible for the HR GG sector development and the capacity building activities of partner NGOs

General Duties :

Overall Role: Make propositions to the Grants Program Manager in developing and implementing Capacity Building Programs/activities for the beneficiary NGOs. Organize and lead different committees and studies related to his/her function. Undertake any duties requested by the Manager.

Plan: Propose Capacity Building plans designed to meet the programs/projects goals with budget required; accomplish work within the approved budget.

Organize: Strengthen communication and good relations with appropriate external bodies and other departments. Ensure availability and make most efficient use of human resources, supplies and equipment.

Lead: Assist in managing and directing the overall activities of the resource Capacity Building function to achieve goals.

Control: Ensure the quality of work and conformance with objectives defined in NDC strategy. Prepare and present reports for the information of his/her supervisor.

Specific Duties:

  • Jointly with the HR GG team and the partner NGOs, identify capacity building needs and prepares annual plans for interventions in the HR GG sector aiming at improving the impact of NGOs in the sector.
  • Assists in finalizing an Indicator Framework for the Secretariat.
  • Manages the implementation of the capacity building and sector development activities in accordance with the approved annual plans.
  • Prepares terms of references (TORs) and contracts for consultants; manages the consultancy assignments including field monitoring; and ensures achievement of intended outputs and impacts.
  • Coordinates and facilitates all meetings and workshops with HR/GG partner NGOs and other stakeholders as needed and reports on all activities.
  • Monitors budget allocations and expenditures against the approved budgets and plans.
  • Prepares progress and periodic reports.
  • Any other activities and/or assignments as assigned by the Grants Manager.
Internal Relationships and Communication:
Coordinators and others as appropriate.
External Relationships and Communication:
Public , Media, NGOs.

 Qualifications:

  • M.A. or equivalent in human rights, law, social studies, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in the areas of capacity building and technical assistance.
  • Sound knowledge of the Palestinian NGO Sector, particularly, the HR/GG NGO Sector.
  • At least five years of experience in effective coordination of HR/GG programs of similar nature.
  • Excellent community development, project management, monitoring, supervision and provision of technical assistance and facilitation skills.
  • Strong facilitation, communication and writing skills in Arabic and English.
  • Solid computer skills.
  • A valid driving license.
