The NGO Development Center (NDC) is a non-profit Palestinian organization whose main function is to empower non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to respond to the needs of the poor and marginalized in the West Bank and Gaza.
Objective of Position: The Fundraising Officer is a member of the Director’s office and reports to the NDC Director. The Fundraising Officer is responsible for coordinating the fundraising activities and assisting the Director in resource mobilization in line with the Fundraising Strategy and Implementation Plan.
General Duties :
Overall NDC Management Role: Make propositions to the NDC Director in developing and implementing NDC fundraising policies and procedures. Organize and lead different committees and studies related to his/her function. Undertake any duties requested by the Director.
Plan: Propose fundraising long-range plans designed to meet NDC goals with budget required; accomplish work within the approved budget.
Organize: Strengthen communication and good relations with appropriate external bodies and other departments. Ensure availability and make most efficient use of human resources, supplies and equipment.
Lead: Delegate authority and set goals. Manage and direct the overall activities of the resource mobilization function to achieve goals. Make work assignments to staff (If applicable) according to skills and job responsibilities.
Control: Monitor the performance of the Resource Mobilization achievements, ensuring the quality of work and conformance with objectives defines in NDC strategy. Prepare and present reports for the information of the Director. Monitor performance of staff through regular meetings and work review.
Staff Development (If applicable): Manage by results, encouraging staff to achieve personal and professional goals. Identify training needs. Recommend annual staff raises according to performance.
Specific Duties :
Participates and assists in the identification of needs and areas of support for NDC’s interventions in line with NDC’s mission, vision, strategies and mandate.
Prepares annual plans for fundraising and follows up the implementation of the plan; in line with the fundraising strategy of NDC.
Provides support to NDC fundraising committee and NDC senior staff to generate new prospects and gain new donor commitments.
Drafts concept notes and proposals including detailed budgets in a timely and proper manner.
Assists in strengthening links and maintaining long term relationships between NDC and donors.
Conducts research into potential donors – identifying their funding policies, key decision makers, and NDC programmes likely to be funded.
Maintains and updates a Donor Management Information System (DMIS) at NDC.
Develops and coordinates new and imaginative fundraising activities including corporate and individual fundraising, events-based activities and web-based fundraising;
Conducts risk analysis and balances time-cost ratios to focus effort upon the most appropriate fundraising activities with the highest chance of success;
Prepares reports for both donors and board members of NDC.
Coordinates, supports and manages program related missions to NDC.
Qualifications:
B.A. in Business Administration, social studies, development, English language or any other relevant fields.
Sound knowledge of the NGO Sector, various donors ‘funding policies and development priorities.
At least 5 years of experience with proven record in working on tasks of a similar nature.
Excellent professional communication and writing skills in Arabic and English.
