Media and Communication Officer

Established in 2006 as an independent non-profit nongovernmental organization, the NGO Development Center (NDC) is an innovative Palestinian non-profit organization that empowers Palestinian NGOs to better provide vital services to Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza, especially the poor and marginalized. Conceived in partnership with leading Palestinian NGOs, unions and networks, NDC mobilizes donor funding to deliver a unique combination of direct grants and capacity building programs that enhance the effectiveness, self-reliance and sustainability of Palestinian NGOs. NDC advocates greater NGO and CBO transparency and accountability through the adoption of professional financial and management practices, and promotes sector-wide coordination and sharing of best practice experiences within its programs and on its Masader Portal

 

NDC works on three tracks: grant-making, sector development and capacity building. NDC’s vision is focused on reaching an effective NGO sector contributing to building Palestinian civil society by empowering NGOs to provide quality services that are responsive to the priorities of the Palestinian society and helping the NGO sector to be more efficient and capable to influence the formulation of national policies and plans. 

NDC is seeking a dynamic Media and Communication Officer to join its team on a full-time basis at its office in Al-Ram. The Media and Communication Officer will serve as the focal point for all media, communication, and information management needs. He/she will be responsible for producing high-quality media and visibility materials and will manage NDC’s website and social media channels.

 

Main Responsibilities: 

  1. Ensure effective communication, visibility, and knowledge management between NDC and its stakeholders, including donors, NGOs, and government entities.

  2. Develop and implement communication and visibility plans in line with NDC’s strategic objectives and annual work plans.

  3. Draft, edit, and finalize communication materials (NDC’s annual reports, brochures, press releases, project briefs, speeches, and presentations) in a high-quality and timely manner.

  4. Manage and regularly update NDC’s website and social media channels, ensuring engaging, accurate, and timely content that highlights NDC’s projects and achievements.

  5. Brief donors and partners on NDC’s programs and projects during meetings, visits, and events.

  6. Review and finalize quarterly and annual progress reports submitted to NDC’s Board of Directors and General Assembly.
  7.  Prepare projects and programs’ updates for Board of Directors and General Assembly meetings and draft minutes of meetings. 
  8. Capture high-quality photos of NDC’s events and projects and maintain an organized digital photo archive.

  9. Liaise with and respond to inquiries from individuals and organizations through telephone, email, and social media channels.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Political Science, English Literature, or a related field.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in communications, media, and reporting, preferably within INGOs or NGOs.

  • Native-level proficiency in English and excellent command of Arabic.

  • Demonstrated experience in drafting, editing, and publishing communication materials under tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience in managing social media platforms and familiarity with websites’ content management systems.

  • Basic photography skills and experience in maintaining organized photo archives.
